3rd Annual Commemoration of   World Alliance of Religion’s Peace(WARP)Summit was  held on September 18 on successful note with prominent sociopolitical leaders from 75 cities of 23 nations participating in at Hwasung  Sports Complex  some 60 km south of Seoul.

The event  with the main theme” Building the Future of Peace” was organized by  Heavenly  Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light(HWPL), founded by Mr. Man Hee Lee, who chose  to dedicate this life to the cause of peace after experiencing the violence and horror of the front lines during the Korean War(1950-1953). Having received a solution to the achievement of peace inspired by heaven Mr.Lee sent out on a mission to spread the word and make world peace a realilty.

Founded in 2012, Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL) is an international non-profit organization working for peace in association with the United Nations Department of Public Information (UN DPI).

Indeed, unforgettable is an understatement! Exhilarating is more apt to describe one’s feeling for having attended the HWPL’s Grand Opening Ceremony of the 1st Annual Commemoration of September 18th World Alliance of Religions’ Peace (WARP) Summit which was successfully held at Olympic Peace Plaza in Seoul for two eventful days in 2015.
The summit, organized by HWPL was  registered under the UN Department of Public Information (DPI) joined hands with the International

Peace Youth Group (IPYG) and International Women’s Peace Group (IWPG), both affiliates of HWPL.

More recently, HWPL signed peace agreement for peace of Mindanao in the Philippines in 2016.
The signing will likely play as a  stepping stone  to pave the way for the  final peaceful settlement of the conflict in Mindanao.using unarmed strategies to advocate for Human Rights of non-combatants for which the Phillipines  thanked for efforts and supports of HWPL.

This summit is in commemoration of the September 18th 2014, when HWPL provided a platform where numerous world leaders gathered in one place to sign a pledge in support of a draft for a “Proposal to Implement an International law for the Cessation of War and World Peace”. The first Summit held last year included in-depth peace discussions covering various sectors of society. This year’s featured the presentation of the first draft of the Convention on the Renunciation and Cessation of War and International Armed Conflicts.

In his opening speech, Chairman Man Hee Lee of HWPL stated, “One year ago, at the World Alliance of Religions’ Peace Summit, we called heaven and earth as witnesses and pledged to implement an international convention and the alliance of religions in the sight of God, all people of the world, and the Peace Advocate.” He continued to speak with emphasis that “This is the eternal light which will cease all wars, achieve peace, and leave it as a legacy to future generations,” urging to become messengers of peace.
Chairwoman Nam Hee Kim of the IWPG expressed her gratitude towards all the global family of peace who are joyfully celebrating the first anniversary of the WARP Summit at the site. She stated, “The world has been changing since the WARP Summit last year,” mentioning the efforts of the implementation of the international convention and the alliance of all religions. Chairwoman Kim emphasized HWPL’s efforts towards the unifications of the Korean Peninsula and that “countless peace organizations and media around the world joined forces with the IWPG and IPYG, the two supporting wings of HWPL, in committing to the peace movement.”
Mr. Khil Raj Regmi, former Chairman of Council of the Ministers and Former Chief Justice of Nepal, delivered a congratulatory message. “The initiatives of HWPL are exemplary to the entire world, as the activities of HWPL for advocating peace is unique and effective in all spheres. I have a firm belief that HWPL has been able to continue its activities for global peace with inspiring guidance, motivation, and the leadership of Chairman Lee. I appreciate the idea of Chairman Man Hee Lee who expressly emphasized it and determined that a separate convention for peace is a need of the present world. I am optimistic that the conference will serve as an impetus for the codification and declaration of the international convention for peace.”
Over the course of two days, the Summit featured the presentation of the first draft of the Convention on the Cessation of War and Achievement of World Peace prepared by members of HWPL’s Peace Advisory Council and International Law Committee. These legal professionals will continue to carry out the project based on the convention drafted at the event, expectations are high for its

Today’s international community is trying to create "Good Governance" for the implementation of the agenda such as economy, culture, and education for sustainable development. In this global trend, HWPL has actively carried out citizen-involved peace activities supported by the government.

The ‘Legislate Peace Campaign’, a citizen-level advocacy campaign for the establishment of the international law for peacebuilding with youth and women has been conducted in the form of signatures, forums, and seminars in over 100 countries since May 2016. In cooperation with local governments, Peace Day and Peace Zone have been enacted by cities including the United States and South Africa to facilitate peacebuilding efforts by citizens.

Based on the experiences of peace activities, HWPL has been holding this annual event every year since 2014 to discuss the roles and action plans of each group of society. Under the slogan of 'Together for peace as messengers of peace', Mr. Man Hee Lee, the Chairman of HWPL, emphasized the importance of the support of the international community by saying, “For world peace and cessation of war, we should create conditions for working together with youth and women's organizations in each country. I would like to ask for the support for the unification of the Republic of Korea to the officials of each country.”
