ABU DHABI, 21st February, 2019 (WAM) -- The National Pavilion United Arab Emirates – La Biennale di Venezia has launched its publication Lifescapes Beyond Bigness, following the UAE’s exhibition at the 2018 Venice Biennale.
Noura Al Kaabi, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development, attended the reception where Dr. Khaled Alawadi, the curator of the exhibition and editor of the publication, spoke alongside journalist Melissa Gronlund.
Lifescapes Beyond Bigness explores human-scale architectural landscapes in the UAE and highlights the role of architecture and urban design in daily life. The book tells an eloquent and inspiring narrative of the Emirates’ unique form of urbanism, revealing hidden sites and everyday stories.
The reception was held at the Cultural Foundation in association with the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi.
Rita Aoun-Abdo, Executive Director, Culture Sector, Department of Culture & Tourism – Abu Dhabi; and Angela Migally, Executive Director, Salama bint Hamdan Al Nahyan Foundation, commissioner of the National Pavilion UAE, were also in attendance.
