TASHKENT, 12th April, 2019 (WAM) -- The UAE Government has organised a series of cross-sectoral workshops to modernise government work in Uzbekistan.
The workshops covered 17 critical sectors as part of the cooperation agreement signed by the two countries to enhance strategic partnership through sharing experience, knowledge, stories of successes and best practices in government work.
This came during the official visit of the Emirati government delegation to Tashkent, during which they held meetings with President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev; Prime Minister, Abdulla Oripov, and a number of top Uzbek officials.
The UAE delegation included Mohammad bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and The Future; Dr. Ahmad bin Abdullah Humaid Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of State for Higher Education and Advanced Skills; Omar bin Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, and a number of officials at the Cabinet.
Commenting on the activities, Al Gergawi said that the UAE is seeking to develop an integrated reference to the modernisation and government development in partnership with the Government of Uzbekistan, through the exchange of experience, success stories and the transfer of knowledge as well as benefitting from the UAE model to improve performance and accelerate achievement pace which contributes to modernising and developing future government work.
He added that the UAE-Uzbekistan partnership seeks to develop a comprehensive system of government work as part a well-thought-out vision based on preparing highly qualified leaders well-equipped with expertise, skills, knowledge and tools that enable them to find solutions to future challenges.
The workshops included a range of topics, including, but not limited to, government accelerators, government quality, government services, smart government applications, strategic and national plans, quality of government performance, government innovation, leadership programmes, programming, education and economics future, global competitiveness and ease of doing business, and other areas.
