DUBAI, 10th May, 2017 (WAM) -- Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of State for Tolerance, urged the working group
of the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Authority to increase co-operation with authorities to support the projects related
to monitoring and providing information and enhancing international competitiveness indexes, in line with the wise leadership’s directions.
During her visit to the authority headquarters, she stressed the importance of monitoring the country’s performance and
improving it in international reports. She said that building and enhancing the national capacities in competitiveness and statistics, as well as designing creative and special indexes in co-operation with international organisations, are extremely important.
She also spoke about including these indexes in international reports to strengthen the country’s participation in the promotion of the Emirati model of tolerance by developing international human capital. This would be possible by focussing on the values of knowledge, tolerance and peaceful co-existence.
The authority working group briefed Sheikha Lubna on the performance of the UAE in 12 world competitiveness reports, with an emphasis on tolerance indexes. The UAE occupied the first place internationally in the foreigners’ index of the Global Talent Competitive Index 2016. It stood third internationally in the national culture index in the annual book of global competitiveness issued by the International Institute for Administrative Development.
She stated that co-operation and mutual work would be the cornerstone in the coming years for improving the country’s position and maintaining it. She viewed an analytical study tackling the impact of media, particularly social media, on public opinion and how to harness these channels to promote the global competitiveness indexes.
She praised the efforts of the authority in implementing the directives of Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, in making employees happy. She also praised the adoption of transparency in the work environments that enables personnel to innovate and create projects.
She stressed that the authority’s working group has succeeded in creating a friendly environment where employees can feel comfortable and safe, which reflects positively in their productivity.
Abdulla Nasser Lootah, Director-General of the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Authority, said that they were honoured to receive Sheikha Lubna and that they will work on implementing her directives in co-operation with public authorities and relevant international organisations. The aim is to achieve the vision of the wise leadership and promote the UAE model of tolerance that has been receiving global appreciation.
They are looking forward to launching many projects and initiatives along with the National Tolerance Programme in the near future, he added.
